Overview:
An exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing specialty insurance business with a focus on data-driven decision-making. This role plays a pivotal part in monitoring and shaping the underwriting portfolio to ensure alignment with strategic goals and optimal performance. Working closely with underwriting, actuarial, and operations teams, you will leverage analytical and visualisation tools to identify trends, manage risk, and provide actionable insights in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Support the implementation of the Portfolio Management Framework to align underwriting strategy with business plans and risk appetite.

Develop and maintain portfolio management and data visualisation tools/dashboards (e.g., Power BI, WTW Radar).

Conduct portfolio monitoring, ad-hoc analysis, and deep dives to identify performance drivers, risks, and opportunities, sharing insights with stakeholders.

Provide analytical input to strategic, planning, and underwriting decisions, including modelling, tiering, and scenario analysis.

Support exposure management processes to ensure catastrophe risks are tracked and managed in line with appetite.

Monitor KPIs and performance for senior management and capital providers.

Promote data-driven culture and improve data quality through vendor and operations engagement.
What We’re Looking For:

Minimum 2 years’ experience in portfolio management, pricing, underwriting, or a related analytical role within re/insurance.

Strong Excel skills and proven ability to work with large datasets.

Experience developing and maintaining data visualisation tools (Power BI, Tableau, or QlikSense).

Knowledge of the London insurance market and drivers of underwriting profit.

Strong analytical thinking, problem solving, and stakeholder influencing skills.
Desirable but Not Essential:

Programming skills in Python, R, or SQL.

Experience with WTW Radar.

Background in predictive analytics or data science.

Knowledge of database architecture and data governance.

Professional qualifications (Actuarial, Data Science, CFA, CII).
