Salary Range: Competitive (dependent on experience)
Reporting to: Delegated Authority Manager
Type: Permanent | Hybrid | 35 hours per week

Overview:

This role supports the effective oversight of delegated underwriting arrangements, ensuring strong governance, robust due diligence, and ongoing compliance with internal frameworks and market/regulatory expectations. It’s a great opportunity for an experienced delegated authority or compliance professional to take ownership of key processes, covering approvals, audits, documentation review, stakeholder engagement, and reporting, while helping to maintain high standards across a growing delegated portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as a central point of contact for delegated underwriting matters, supporting due diligence for new and renewal arrangements and overseeing ongoing relationship management.
  • Manage delivery of the annual audit schedule: scope and arrange audits, review reports, agree findings with stakeholders, and track recommendations through to timely completion.
  • Review new and renewing documentation (e.g., lineslips and master policies) to ensure required standards and controls are met.
  • Maintain accurate third-party records and support upkeep of the CRM/database of coverholders and service providers.
  • Perform quality control reviews across the delegated authority team, identifying gaps and supporting training needs to maintain consistent standards.
  • Build working knowledge across multiple classes of business to provide cover and support continuity when required.
  • Support regular review and maintenance of policies and procedures relating to third-party oversight and delegated authority governance.
  • Produce quarterly reporting for relevant internal committees and senior stakeholders on delegated authority performance and compliance.
  • Provide guidance and training to stakeholders on delegated authority governance and on relevant regulatory and market requirements.
  • Coordinate and support internal audit reviews and respond to ad hoc compliance requests and reporting needs.
  • Represent the function in market forums where relevant, staying up to date with emerging market guidance and best practice.
  • Build strong relationships across the business and with external market counterparts, including facilitating meetings and supporting approval workflows.
What We're Looking For:
  • Experience in delegated authority oversight and/or compliance within an insurance environment.
  • Strong due diligence mindset with excellent attention to detail and investigative skills.
  • Confident communicator with strong written skills and the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Highly organised with effective time management and the ability to manage multiple priorities to deadlines.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and comfortable taking ownership of workstreams.
  • Strong IT literacy and ability to work with internal systems and reporting tools.
Desirable but Not Essential:
  • Experience within the Lloyd’s delegated authority market.
  • Familiarity with delegated authority platforms and tools (e.g., Atlas, DCOM, DAM).
