Job Title: Underwriting & Aggregate Assistant
Location: London / Hybrid
Salary Range: £35,000
Reporting to: Senior Underwriter
Type: Permanent 

Overview:
We are looking for an Underwriting & Aggregate Assistant with insurance experience in underwriting or operations, ideally with exposure to crisis management. This role is a great opportunity to work closely with the underwriting team, support risk and exposure management processes, and gain insight into the specialist insurance market. You’ll help ensure data accuracy, support business plan objectives, and develop strong relationships with brokers, clients, and market bodies, all while building technical expertise in underwriting and risk management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately enter risk data and aggregate information into internal systems and risk modelling software.
  • Ensure timely resolution of errors and maintain high-quality data standards.
  • Support underwriters in producing regular and ad hoc reports.
  • Liaise with brokers to resolve queries and maintain strong relationships.
  • Assist with the production of the annual business plan and exposure management activities.
  • Support risk data cleansing and quality control processes.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the account, book of business, and market environment.

Desirable but Not Essential:

  • Experience presenting or marketing the business to brokers, clients, and partners.

  • Strong network across the specialist insurance market, including Lloyd’s and industry bodies.

  • Previous experience in Lloyd’s market operations or exposure management.


Education / Experience:

  • Degree-level education or equivalent relevant experience.

  • Insurance experience in underwriting or operations with exposure to crisis management is required.


IT Knowledge:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and internet-based tools.

  • Experience with e-placing or risk management software is advantageous.


Conduct Standards:

  • Act with integrity and demonstrate due skill, care, and diligence.

  • Be open and cooperative with regulators.

  • Treat customers fairly and maintain proper market conduct at all times.
