About the role
- To support the Head of Exposure Management and wider team, in respect of the recording, calculating and monitoring of Syndicate Non Natural Catastrophe (NNC) exposure data.
- The Exposure Management team works closely with the Actuarial and Underwriting functions providing and communicating consistent exposure and loss analytics for multiple classes of business.
- Manage the activities of the Catastrophe Analyst.
- Provide first class support to the Head of Exposure Management and the Chief Actuary.
- For allocated classes of business, to develop, implement and manage the process of recording and the maintenance of appropriate Exposure management information accurately.
- Drive the Exposure Management Function in the further development of exposure data processes covering NNC risks to the organisation
- Drive the visibility and raise the profile of the classes in the business and the understanding as a result.
- Keeping up to date with the latest technologies and developments in the field and utilise to improve current systems and reporting where appropriate.
- Liaise with key stakeholders including Lloyds and Hannover to ensure the view of risk remains appropriate for NNC classes and we are driving improvements in relation to the Lloyds principles.
- Ensure the data is accurate and captured correctly on the appropriate Exposure Management system.
- Good working knowledge and experience of Exposure Management systems, processes & procedures for NNC perils and classes of business.
- London Market experience, with strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Good educational background, degree level or equivalent experience in relevant field.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and develop working relationships with team members/other departments within the business Group. Good written communication skills are also required.
- Attention to detail is paramount; you are required to produce accurate work whilst working to tight deadlines and therefore must be able to prioritise your work.
- Strong IT skills, especially Excel (minimum intermediate level),
- A working knowledge of programming language such as SQL or R would be advantageous.
