We have an opportunity for a Graduate to join our IT department on the Starr 2024 Graduate Programme – start date Monday 22 nd July 2024. The IT Graduate is an entry-level position designed for individuals who have recently completed a degree in Information Technology or a related field.
The role is intended to provide a comprehensive introduction to the various disciplines in IT within the insurance industry, including but not limited to software development, systems analysis, data analysis and reporting, infrastructure, services, delivery and security.

- An honours degree in an Information Technology or a related field, 2.1 grade or above;
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, C#, Python) and familiarity with software development frameworks and tools.
- In-depth knowledge of data structures, database design, and SQL, with an aptitude for data analysis and visualization techniques.
- Solid grasp of networking principles, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and an understanding of network infrastructure components such as switches, routers, and firewalls.
- Exposure to cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and virtualization technologies.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts, including threat landscapes, security protocols, and incident response procedures.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues and provide effective solutions.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
- A collaborative team player with the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing requirements.
