Overview:
An opportunity for an experienced underwriter to join a dynamic and growing Power & Renewables team. The role involves underwriting and developing a profitable portfolio, building strong broker and client relationships, and supporting the strategic ambition to be a market leader in the energy transition.
Key Responsibilities:

Underwrite and manage Power & Renewables risks within delegated authority to deliver portfolio profitability and growth.

Contribute to the development of the annual business plan and support strategic initiatives across the portfolio.

Identify and develop new business opportunities via London Market brokers and international distribution channels.

Apply technical underwriting expertise to evaluate and select profitable risks, while supporting long-term client retention.

Collaborate with engineering specialists to assess risk management features, benchmark technologies, and monitor industry trends.

Monitor claims activity and trends, working with claims teams to support appropriate settlement outcomes and apply lessons learned to future underwriting decisions.

Ensure full compliance with underwriting governance, internal controls, and regulatory frameworks, including Lloyd’s standards.

Contribute to the development and maintenance of systems used to track and report aggregate exposures.

Support the refinement and use of technical pricing models to inform underwriting decisions.

Provide regular updates to management on market trends and portfolio performance, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.

Participate in internal committees and working groups across underwriting, engineering, operations, and risk management disciplines.

Mentor and support the development of junior team members.

Represent the business at industry conferences, panels, and client events to support thought leadership and market engagement.
What We're Looking For:

Strong knowledge of the Power Generation and Renewable Energy sectors.
