Job Title: Senior Reinsurance Technician

Overview:
This is a great opportunity for an experienced reinsurance professional to join a high-performing team in a senior capacity. The role focuses on post-placement operational support for ceded reinsurance, ensuring the accurate and timely administration of contracts, recoveries, and reporting activities. You will play a key role in managing Excess of Loss and Facultative reinsurance, liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders, and supporting systems and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all Excess of Loss reinsurance contracts from an operational perspective
- Assist with the administration of Facultative recoveries
- Maintain and update contract details in market systems such as Subscribe, Senator, and XLRAS
- Calculate and issue premium adjustment statements and special settlement requests
- Identify and record recoverable claims in a timely and accurate manner
- Liaise with internal teams including Underwriting, Finance, Reserving, and Claims
- Engage with brokers and reinsurers to support contract execution and cash flow
- Prepare QPD returns for terrorism pools such as Pool Re and GAREAT
- Monitor and manage aged debt positions
- Perform LORS and USM processing as required
- Contribute to exception reporting and ensure compliance with SOX controls
- Represent the department in internal and external meetings
- Support new system implementations and ad-hoc projects as needed
What We're Looking For:
- At least 10 years of experience in ceded reinsurance within the Lloyd’s or company market
- Strong technical understanding of reinsurance operations and recovery procedures
- Excellent working knowledge of Subscribe, Senator, and XLRAS
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Confident communicator with the ability to build effective working relationships
- Detail-oriented, organised, and able to manage competing priorities
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Ability to instruct and mentor junior staff
Desirable but Not Essential:
- Experience across both Lloyd’s and non-Lloyd’s entities
- ???????Familiarity with new system implementation and change management initiatives
- Exposure to SOX controls and reporting
