Salary : £65,000 +
Purpose of the Role:
Proactive handling of mainly PI, D&O, FI, and Cyber claims across various professions, from first advice to file closure.
Key Role Accountabilities:
- Liaising with Clients and Producing Brokers in the UK an Worldwide via e-mail and telephone to help deliver and maintain our first-class in-house claims service.
- Notifying and communicating with Insurers, Solicitors and Loss Adjusters and having knowledge/control of the claim file so as to best represent the Insured’s interests at all times.
- Ensuring claims are correctly entered and processed on ECF.
- Maintaining accurate claims records on our IT system, ensuring these are kept up to date and ready to be produced for policy renewal.
- Liaison with placing teams on issues including claims trends, policy wordings, client meetings and presentations
- Ad-hoc administrative and other claim duties as required.
- Ensuring effective liaison with Accounting colleagues both with regard to collection/payment of funds, any queries and the subsequent clearance of accounting entries
- Keeping up to date with market and system changes
- Monitoring workload and reporting to Senior Management as appropriate
- Sufficient knowledge and understanding of the relevant aspects of the Law of Agency and the Law of Contract to be able to perform the Principal Tasks
- Sufficient knowledge and understanding of the general concepts of insurance to be able to perform the Principal Tasks
- Good working knowledge of the Underwriters and markets; and their practices, documentation and customs
- Good working knowledge of the UK, Irish and other relevant insurance and regulatory environment
- To be proactive in the provision of claims solutions for large clients
- Poses strong and effective communication to Senior Management
- Knowledge of Insurance Brokers practices, procedures and service standards
- Knowledge of Claims Division business strategy, goals and objectives.
- Knowledge and/or awareness of Insurance Brokers IT systems and processes
- Ability to retain existing business and the confidence of the client
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to use ECF, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint packages
- Good numeracy skills
- Strong Claims management across PI, D&O, FI and cyber claims
- Strong Attention to Detail and natural Problem-Solving skill
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritise work accordingly
