Overview:
A hands-on ceded reinsurance role supporting the delivery of the reinsurance strategy. You’ll own elements of the outward reinsurance subledger, support settlements and recoveries, and produce accurate, timely MI and regulatory/Lloyd’s reporting. Ideal for a detail-driven operator who enjoys partnering with underwriting, finance and actuarial teams in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with ceded premiums, commissions, profit commissions, recoveries and broker rebates across all business units.
Maintain the outward reinsurance subledger; perform credit control and counterparty balance reporting.
Execute settlements and support LORS/market processes; administer contracts and documentation.
Manage bordereaux and EPI monitoring; resolve data and processing queries.
Produce MI/KPIs and quarterly reporting; support SRS/populations and close processes.
Prepare reinsurer reports (e.g., quota share statements, premium adjustments, collateral monitoring).
Coordinate and follow up on audit plans for coverholders/service companies/DCAs.
Support reinsurance security reviews and quarterly reserve reviews with actuarial.
Aid cash application/reconciliations with Finance and contribute to process improvement and automation.
Maintain process checklists; support internal/external audits and compliance requirements.
Build effective relationships with brokers and internal stakeholders.
What We’re Looking For:
Strong attention to detail with advanced Excel and solid Microsoft suite skills.
Experience with outward reinsurance systems and ledger management (e.g., XL Pro/LORS or similar).
Data-oriented mindset; able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Clear communicator with organised, proactive approach and sound commercial awareness.
Desirable but Not Essential:
2+ years’ London Market insurance experience, ideally in outward reinsurance/operations.
Exposure to Lloyd’s reporting/returns and credit control processes.
Progress toward CII or equivalent professional qualifications.
