Job Title: Claims Specialist
Location: London
Salary Range: £45,000
Reporting to: Claims Manager / Senior Claims Lead
Type: Permanent | Hybrid

Overview:
This role offers an opportunity to manage and resolve insurance claims efficiently and fairly, while supporting the growth and retention of clients. The Claims Specialist will work across multiple functions to provide insight, analysis, and guidance, helping shape risk management and claim outcomes in a collaborative, professional environment. This is a dynamic role ideal for someone motivated by problem-solving, stakeholder engagement, and delivering high-quality claims service.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle insurance claims from initial notification through to resolution, ensuring adherence to claims guidelines, regulatory requirements, and professional conduct standards.
  • Collaborate with underwriting, actuarial, and engineering colleagues to support portfolio management, risk mitigation, policy interpretation, and identification of claim trends.
  • Maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, surveyors, adjusters, and legal professionals, providing clear communication and insight throughout the claims process.
  • Contribute to business development initiatives, including external industry events and meetings, enhancing the profile of the claims function.
  • Manage delegated claims handling by third parties and monitor adherence to internal and regulatory requirements.
  • Exercise sound judgment in decision-making, escalating issues as required, and operate within the financial and authority limits of the role.

Desirable but Not Essential:

  • Previous experience in claims handling or insurance-related roles.
  • Experience in negotiation, data analysis, or technical claim assessment.
  • Familiarity with portfolio and risk management within energy, property, or construction sectors.
