Title: Operations Business Partner 
Location: London/ Hybrid 
Salary: Competitive 

Job summary 
Responsible for the delivery of the UW Support Model to the specified Underwriting teams by way of monitoring the risk administration service delivery (data quality and timeliness) by the business Outsourced Business Partner, and Operations Business Partnering for specified lines of business. 
 
Main duties 
  • Act as the key contact, co-ordinator and point of escalation between the specified Underwriting & other internal teams, Operations Business Partnering and the Outsourced Business Partner. Ensure that queries &/or requests from all stakeholders are responded to promptly to ensure an efficient service is delivered. Attend / lead meetings as required with relevant stakeholders. 
  • Daily/weekly/monthly monitoring of KPIs for defined business lines. Ensure any items outside of SLA requiring attention are resolved & all tasks are completed within SLA or appropriate action is taken. 
  • Oversight of the risk administration Standard Operating Procedures, process flow charts and controls relevant to specified Underwriting Teams. Review documentation annually, or whenever business change is planned. 
  • Responsible for the management and training of the Operations Business Partnering team for both line of business tasks & other generic tasks. 
  • Standardise services alongside other Operations Business Partners to create flexibility in operational support model during peak periods and business needs. 
  • Identify opportunities to automate or outsource further tasks and follow governance processes and testing associated with the changes. 
  • Coordinate shared email boxes supporting the specified Underwriting Teams. Triage correspondence and action promptly to avoid backlogs. 
  • Monitor data quality entry by the Outsourced Business Partner via sample checks and exceptions reports. Perform root cause analysis for any issues. 
  • Assist the Head of Operations Business Partnering with the delivery of the UW Support Model, both in London and in the expansion to the overseas offices. This is to include, but not limited to: involvement in transfer of work into Underwriting Operations from Underwriting; outsourcing work from Underwriting Operations to Outsourced Business Partner; creation of procedure documents and participating in training workshops to outsourced Business Partner 
  • Ensure that tasks as defined in the UW Ops task list are performed by the appropriate party. 
  • Preparation of materials and meeting attendance as required by the Head of Operations Business Partnering. 
  • Involvement as SME in any project work as may be required. 
  • Ad hoc responsibilities based around business needs
Regulatory responsibilities 

Support the CSL and CIC Boards to maintain a corporate culture, policies and procedures that pay due regard to the interests of CSL / CIC customers and treat them fairly at all times. 

Skills & Competencies
  • Experience with London Market Insurance processes and systems (bureau and non-bureau). 
  • Previous experience in outsourcing/offshoring and subsequent monitoring of tasks. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft products. Technical authorship of Standard Operating Procedures, process maps and controls. Analytic capabilities to action exception reports, track and report KPI progress. 
  • Advanced use of policy administration systems 
  • Prior experience as a SME during change projects and adoption of new processes. 
  • Professional outlook that fully supports the business values

Education
  • GCSE Maths grade B or above or equivalent. 
  • Minimum of 5 other GCSE's grade C or above. 
  • 3 'A' Levels or equivalent, or Degree, or Insurance Qualifications
