We’re looking for a Junior Accounts Assistant to join our Treasury team, supporting cashiers and the accounts payable function.

This is a brand new role involving:

  • Daily review of client bank accounts, advising Insurance Accounts of all credit transactions, not picked-up by the Receipting Portal, in a timely manner (providing supporting documentation).

  • Processing client payment requests through appropriate systems, utilising the pre-format facility as appropriate, accurately & in accordance with internal procedures. Endeavour to ensure payments are approved/authorised within customary cut-off times.

  • Posting client payments to systems promptly, following submission of payments to the banks.

  • Reviewing, administering & approving daily bank reconciliations for all client accounts– ensuring reconciling items are resolved at the earliest opportunity. Preparing hard-copy bank reconciliations to support client money calculations.

  • Administering the payment template libraries within the systems, ensuring client details are kept up-to-date & amendments/changes are made in a timely manner (supporting documentary evidence to be filed).

  • Query resolution and general administration (filing/scanning).

  • Processing & monitoring invoices in procurement system (- remove).

  • Posting invoices.

  • Reviewing overdue expense reports.

  • Preparing the weekly/fortnightly payment runs.

  • Dealing with supplier queries.

  • Bookkeeping & monthly reconciliations.

  • Assisting with tax analysis as requested.

  • Assisting with testing new systems.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in project implementations as requested.

  • Adhering to company & regulatory policies & procedures together with mandatory training requirements.

  • Adhering to financial reporting requirements including monthly phasing of income.
