About the role: You will be responsible for overseeing and managing the pricing models and strategies for the E-Trade business. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders across the organization, including underwriters, IT professionals, business intelligence teams, and other actuaries, to provide the best pricing technology and solutions. 

Key Responsibilities: 
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for the pricing models that support the E-Trade business. 
  • Strategize and prioritize the deployment and development of pricing models, working closely with IT to ensure accurate implementation. 
  • Lead the monthly price monitoring process and expand coverage to include more products over time. 
  • Perform regular pricing reviews of e-traded products, analysing the portfolio and providing insights on risk quality and implications to pricing actions. 
  • Provide general pricing support to the business, including new product design, prospective partnerships, and data quality issues. 
  • Develop and implement a strategy and vision for e-Pricing. 
  • Engage in stakeholder management, regularly communicating the development of the team to key stakeholders. 
  • Ensure model standards and documentation meet best practice and company standards. 
  • Manage the European ePricing team whilst continuously seeking process improvements for efficiency. 
 
Required Skills & Experience: 
  • Relevant experience within the general insurance industry. 
  • Ability to quickly grasp new information and make connections across multiple parts of the business. 
  • Strong pricing experience, preferably with system-integrated pricing models. Experience working with IT on system-wide model implementation and/or data restructuring would be a plus.  
  • Advanced data skills, with experience working with large datasets using SQL, SAS, R, or Python. 
  • Programming skills and experience supervising programmers. 
  • Prior experience using Radar advantageous. 
  • Understanding of P&C products, KPIs such as COR, ULR, rate change, and their relation to profitability. 
  • Ability to work with a broad range of partners, from technical to strategic. 
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to speak credibly about pricing and challenge in a constructive manner. 
  • Proactive and detail-oriented, without losing sight of the bigger picture. 
  • Commercially minded with an understanding of ML and AI. 
  • Willingness to be hands-on and work with data whilst also focusing on people management.
