Job Title: Media, Film & TV Underwriter – Professional Indemnity
Location: City of London
Salary Range: Competitive + benefits
Reporting to: Underwriting Director
Type: Permanent | Hybrid (minimum 4 days in office)

Overview:

An exciting opportunity for an ambitious and technically strong Professional Indemnity Underwriter to join a growing Media, Film & TV team. The role involves underwriting a diverse portfolio of media-related risks across UK and international markets, supporting business development through broker engagement, and contributing to the delivery of innovative insurance solutions in a dynamic and evolving sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Underwrite and manage a portfolio of Media, Film & TV Professional Indemnity risks within delegated authority.
  • Develop and strengthen broker relationships through regular meetings and proactive engagement.
  • Handle renewals, new business quotations, and mid-term adjustments with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Monitor broker account performance and ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines.
  • Manage and optimise the use of digital underwriting platforms for media risks.
  • Provide excellent service to brokers, ensuring timely and effective communication.
  • Oversee underwriting administration, including policy documentation, system updates, and account queries.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Professional Indemnity underwriting role (media experience not essential).
  • Strong technical understanding of PI underwriting principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on broker relationship management.
  • Confident negotiator with sound commercial awareness and numerical ability.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to prioritise competing demands and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data management tools.

Desirable but Not Essential:

  • Experience with media, entertainment, or technology sector risks.
  • Exposure to international or London Market business.
  • Professional qualifications such as ACII or progress towards certification.
