The Company
Fidelis is an exciting, fast-growing, and niche Insurance company based in the City. We were set up to do things differently. In just five years, we have achieved some of the best results in the industry and have created a company known for excellence and outperformance.

We are a global provider of speciality insurance and reinsurance. This means we provide financial protection for corporations and other insurance companies against natural catastrophes, political and credit risks, terrorism, aerospace failures, marine accidents and other large or unusual events.

We employ people from diverse backgrounds, but what we have in common is our intellectual ability, work ethic, and desire to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment where we can all make an impact.

You
We are looking for motivated students seeking an opportunity to influence change in the Insurance Sector through responsible, sustainable business practices and who want a challenging and rewarding learning experience.

The Programme
At Fidelis an internship will give you more than just on-the-job training - you’ll become part of our global team and be involved in real tasks from day 1. Throughout your time with us you will receive support from your manager and team, you will also get a ‘buddy’ who will act as a guide and mentor during your internship. Networking and social events will give you exposure to senior management and allow you to learn more about our different teams and the markets in which we operate.

What you’ll be doing
Fidelis have several summer internship opportunities, please indicate which of the following team(s) you are interested in:

Sustainability
You will be part of the Sustainability team. This is a hugely exciting area that spans a wide range of topics, from environmental issues to social and governance issues, across investments, operations and underwriting. Our team is responsible for developing the Fidelis sustainability framework, engaging with industry bodies on sustainability topics and providing guidance on underwriting decisions on a daily basis.

FIDELIS ETHOS

Our culture is defined by our ethos. It is the foundation of who we are and the core of everything we do.

· Results – We want to be the best at the things we care about, so we focus on profitability over volume, with responsive decision-making and clear prioritised accountability.

· Innovate – We aspire to lead the market in providing the services and products our clients need, and to drive change in the broader impact our industry has on human rights, society, and environmental sustainability.

· Include – We create an environment where employees can bring their whole self to work, with open communication where everyone, irrespective of gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation or background, feels able to contribute ideas and be recognised and rewarded for their contribution.

· Unite – We operate as team of individual talents that actively seeks to reflect the diversity of the societies in which we operate, giving our business the widest range of inputs and perspectives.

· Respond – We work in a business exposed to sudden shocks and changes – elemental, political, economic and human – so we remain nimble and ready for change.

DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION

Our vision is for a workplace culture where differences are valued and where diversity of background, experience and thought are welcomed. We believe that developing and maintaining a diverse and inclusive organisation is critical to our success. Our hiring, assessment and selection process must be fair, free from bias and one which ensures we select the right person for the job, based on merit.
