Main Duties
Broker Relationship Management
- Own, manage and coordinate a number of Chaucer’s key broker relationships
- Build solid relationships externally with our key brokers and be able to interact and be respected at all levels
- Ability to communicate goals and strategy both internally and externally
- Ensure Chaucer is aware of external factors which could impact plans – ‘eyes and ears’ of the market
- Build strong working relationships with underwriters and senior staff
- Support the Head of Distribution on management of strategic arrangements
- Responsible for engagement actions and communications with underwriters
- Support the continued development, communication, and execution of the distribution strategy
- Support business development initiatives across the syndicate and Chaucer Insurance Company
- Be an advocate of the strategy internally with the underwriting community
- Identify and triage new opportunities
- Support and drive the MGA / Portfolio strategy work
- Support with the build and marketing of Chaucer’s MGA proposition to attract the best partners
- Support Underwriters with the cross sell or retention of key MGA relationships
- Interpret broker data to identify areas of focus or new opportunities for Chaucer
- Enhance distributions ability to demonstrate ‘value’ from our strategic arrangements and facilities
- Encourage and support the use of the broker analytics with our underwriters
- To be an advocate of CRM tools and encourage cultural change within underwriters to proactively target business
- To be an advocate of data standardisation and proficient in the interpretation and analysis of data to monitor broker performance and identify opportunities
- Encourage and drive behaviour across the group to capture more consistent data that can be used as key performance indicators with our brokers
- Support with communication of broker performance both internally and externally with our brokers
- Support the reinsurance teams in their core client management approach
- Act as a single point of contact in best practice cedent management for the Reinsurance teams
- Ability to support business development initiatives across the syndicate and Chaucer Insurance Company where required
- Complete any data request from Lloyds in relation to the broker market/ remuneration etc
- Provide support to strategic workstreams where required
- Support with Overseas Distribution plans and needs
- Experience in insurance relationship management
- Commercial or equivalent experience
- Experience of the London Insurance market
