The role supports the Compliance function in delivering its responsibilities and embedding a strong culture of compliance across the business. Reporting to the Deputy Compliance Officer, the Compliance Analyst will assist in the execution of the annual compliance workplan while contributing to the promotion of transparent, proportionate and positive compliance practices across all areas of the organisation.
Compliance Monitoring Framework
- Maintain and enhance the compliance monitoring framework, including documentation, performance of monitoring activities, reporting, escalation and improvements.
- Support financial crime prevention activities, including sanctions screening and Anti-Money Laundering checks.
- Assist in ensuring adherence to complaints handling procedures and conduct risk policies.
- Provide guidance to business units and overseas offices on regulatory and compliance matters, including licensing, conduct risk and financial sanctions.
- Ensure policies, procedures and control systems are designed, implemented and communicated to meet regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to compliance reporting for governance committees and senior leadership.
- Support the administration and execution of the annual compliance workplan.
- Assist in maintaining compliance systems and intranet resources, ensuring information is accurate and up to date.
- Manage adherence to automated compliance reporting deadlines and monitor upcoming or missed submissions.
- Support the coordination of compliance team meetings and agendas.
- Liaise professionally with regulatory bodies, brokers, industry peers and external service providers on compliance matters.
- Undertake ad-hoc compliance tasks as required by the team or senior management.
- Ensure accountability under SM&CR standards to support good consumer outcomes.
- Strong understanding of compliance systems and procedures.
- Ability to monitor business activities to ensure regulatory adherence.
- Skilled in preparing compliance reports.
- Ability to interpret underwriting documentation for regulatory consistency.
- Strong relationship management with regulators and internal stakeholders.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to foster a culture of compliance across the business.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to apply regulatory frameworks to business challenges.
- Knowledge of financial crime requirements relevant to UK and US financial services firms.
- Awareness or willingness to develop knowledge of:
- FCA Handbook, relevant regulations and codes of conduct
- Compliance issues within the Lloyd’s and London market
- Insurance and reinsurance principles
- Internal standards and control frameworks
