Job Details Permanent full-time position. Atrium offers all permanent employees the chance to work flexibly through our charter for flexible working Authority Level No immediate underwriting authority Key Tasks Underwriter Support Assisting underwriters with their underwriting at the box in Lloyd’s Pre-underwriting risk data analysis Creation and monitoring of the underwriting reports Mapping of data and assisting with model development Assisting with all online trading platforms Income and performance monitoring on large accounts Liasing with brokers and clients as necessary on live risks and quotes Underwriting Records Managing risk records for the Non-Marine team Entry of risk data into underwriting system Managing underwriter workflows Responsibility for pre and post bind contract quality assurance Entry of aggregate data onto the appropriate systems Management of filing and data storage Managing credit control Creation and monitoring of renewal list report Slip copying and scanning Required Competences Accuracy Able to input data and maintain records with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. IT Capability Needs to be familiar and competent with various software and I.T. packages including Microsoft Office Administration and Compliance Strong organisational skills and ability to work to deadlines. Underwriting Assistant, Non-Marine Able to operate at all times to the standards and rules of the regulatory bodies and those set out in the firm’s standards documents. Relationship Management Able to develop and maintain ongoing relationships with brokers, underwriters and other staff. Analytical Able to analyse and interpret financial information and manipulate data. Personal Development Able to ensure competence is attained and maintained. Shows initiative and has an inquisitive nature. Keen to increase skills and responsibility through training. Communication Ability to communicate directly and through correspondence, in a manner appropriate to the audience. Required Knowledge and Skills Non-Marine insurance, reinsurance and binding authorities. Lloyd’s and the insurance market, industry and people. Developing knowledge of the standards and rules of the regulatory bodies and those set out in the firm’s standards documents Knowledge of the types of business transacted by the syndicate.
