Overview
An excellent opportunity for an organised and detail-oriented individual looking to build a career within the London insurance market. This role provides administrative and operational support to Underwriters, ensuring the accurate processing of underwriting information, maintenance of risk records and efficient day-to-day management of underwriting activities. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting underwriting operations while developing their technical knowledge within a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities
Underwriting Support
  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to Underwriters across Lloyd's, office-based and virtual trading environments.
  • Assist with pre-underwriting risk data analysis.
  • Prepare and monitor underwriting reports.
  • Support data mapping activities and model development.
  • Assist with online trading platforms and underwriting systems.
  • Monitor income and performance on key accounts.
  • Liaise with brokers and clients regarding live risks and quotations where required.

Underwriting Administration
  • Maintain accurate underwriting and risk records.
  • Input risk and aggregate data into underwriting systems.
  • Manage Underwriter workflows and documentation.
  • Perform pre- and post-bind contract quality assurance checks.
  • Maintain filing systems and electronic document storage.
  • Support credit control processes.
  • Produce and monitor renewal reports.
  • Manage document scanning, slip copying and general administration.
  • Undertake additional administrative duties as required.

Experience & Knowledge
  • A genuine interest in developing a career within insurance and underwriting.
  • Understanding of the Lloyd's and London insurance market is advantageous.
  • Strong administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Interest in studying towards the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) qualifications.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and other business software packages.
