Job Title: Senior Broker Technician
Location: London / Hybrid
Salary Range: £60,000
Reporting to: Team Leader / Senior Broker


Overview:
An excellent opportunity for an experienced insurance professional to join a specialist broking environment, providing technical and operational support across complex international property accounts. This role plays a key part in ensuring the efficient placement, administration, and servicing of business while supporting brokers, clients, and market relationships.

The successful candidate will combine strong technical knowledge of the London Market with excellent organisational skills and a collaborative approach.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical and administrative support to brokers across international property accounts.
  • Prepare and maintain Market Reform Contracts (MRCs), endorsements, and associated placement documentation.
  • Assist with policy wordings and support both Open Market and Lineslip placements.
  • Produce premium calculations, placement schematics, tax calculations, and debit notes.
  • Obtain market agreement for slips and endorsements through electronic placement platforms.
  • Respond to market processing and settlement queries in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all placement, contract, and closing documentation meets client requirements and internal compliance standards.
  • Maintain accurate client, placement, and policy records.
  • Monitor and support account renewals, helping to ensure strong client retention.
  • Identify opportunities to support account development and business growth.
  • Work closely with credit control teams to ensure payment terms and warranties are met.
  • Support brokers in managing client expectations through market updates, insurance insights, and sector knowledge.
  • Utilise management information and performance data to monitor service delivery and key performance indicators.
  • Escalate potential errors, omissions, or compliance concerns promptly and appropriately.
  • Mentor and support less experienced team members, contributing to their ongoing development.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues, markets, and clients to deliver a high standard of service.


What We're Looking For:
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience within the insurance market, in a broker support, technician, or operations-focused role.
  • Strong understanding of the London Insurance Market and international insurance placements.
  • Experience producing placement documentation, endorsements, and policy-related records.
  • Advanced Excel skills with the ability to perform premium calculations and analyse data.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Confident working with stakeholders at varying levels of seniority.


Desirable but Not Essential:
  • Experience working with electronic placement platforms and market systems.
  • Exposure to international property insurance business.
  • Previous experience mentoring or supporting junior colleagues.
  • Relevant insurance qualifications or progress towards professional accreditation.
