Summary of Position:

The role sits within the 2nd line of defence with responsibility for supporting the Group Risk Director and the Senior Group Risk Manager in:

·         setting policy, providing advice and challenge to the first line of defence businesses and operations

·         the effective identification, management and control of key risks to the Group, acting as a key enabler to achieving business objectives.

·         driving and managing the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Framework across BMS Investment Holding Company Limited (BIHCL),

·         providing oversight, review and challenge of the International locations and their risk profiles, and

·         ensuring the ERM framework is fit for purpose, and aligned with business growth

Key responsibilities and accountabilities

·         Assisting in the effective maintenance, application and on-going development of the Group’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework (including Risk Strategy, Risk Policies, Risk Management, Risk Register, Risk Appetite, and Risk Reporting)

·         Conduct risk analysis through monitoring of emerging risks internally and externally within the business and regulatory environments for BIHCL

·         Assist in ensuring that risk issues / events are being appropriately evaluated, investigated and resolved in conjunction with relevant business owners

·         Analyse risk data and support the delivery of appropriate reporting to enable senior management to keep appraised of risk issues

·         Support the preparation of quarterly reports for the relevant Risk and Compliance Committees and Boards

·         Support the provision of effective oversight and challenge of BIHCL systems and controls (including the effectiveness of risk mitigation strategies)

·         Forge a collaborative relationship with Compliance to drive continual improvement of the risk management framework

·         Assist with the administration of independent control assurance information provided through 2nd line monitoring and 3rd line audit activity

·         Maintain up-to-date working knowledge of regulatory requirements

·         Support the delivery of risk management training when necessary

·         Adhere to Group Minimum standards, policies and procedures

·         Adhere to company and regulatory policies and procedures together with mandatory training requirements

·         Assist as appropriate with the purchase and maintenance of BIHCL insurance programme

·         Assist as appropriate in the governance and oversight of the BIHCL policy universe, including the maintenance of the policy management system

·         Assist with the delivery of ad hoc risk management projects as required

Functional and Behavioural Competencies required:

·         1 or 2 years’ experience of risk management preferred
