Overview:
An exciting opportunity for an experienced reinsurance professional to join a specialist operations function supporting complex outwards reinsurance programmes. This role focuses on the accurate calculation, administration, and management of reinsurance assets, with particular emphasis on quota share arrangements. Working closely with finance, claims, brokers, and operational stakeholders, you will play a key role in ensuring efficient processing, financial accuracy, and continuous improvement across reinsurance operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Calculate and manage reinsurance assets, with a primary focus on quota share reinsurance arrangements.
- Produce premium and claims bordereaux to support the preparation of reinsurance accounts across complex global reinsurance programmes.
- Process premium bookings, profit commissions, sliding scale commissions, and cash calls accurately and within agreed timescales.
- Work closely with credit control to support debt management and cash collection activities.
- Liaise with finance, claims, brokers, and external stakeholders to investigate and resolve operational queries.
- Support the delivery and monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Maintain and update operational tracking tools and reporting records.
- Assist with the preparation of data for internal controls, audits, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives, driving greater efficiency and operational effectiveness.
- Provide support across the wider reinsurance operations function as required.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory, governance, and internal control requirements while maintaining high standards of integrity and customer focus.
What We're Looking For:
- Minimum of five years' experience within reinsurance operations or reinsurance accounting.
- Strong understanding of quota share reinsurance and associated operational processes.
- Experience working within the London Market and/or Lloyd's environment.
- Excellent analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to challenge existing processes and identify improvements.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.
- Comfortable working across multiple stakeholders in a collaborative environment.
- Ability to learn quickly, adapt to changing priorities, and manage competing workloads.
- Awareness of emerging technologies, including the practical use of AI tools to enhance productivity and efficiency.
Desirable but Not Essential:
- Experience supporting complex global reinsurance programmes.
- Knowledge of reinsurance accounting processes and financial reporting.
- Experience preparing information for internal or external audits.
- Familiarity with process improvement methodologies and operational change initiatives.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint.
