Reporting to: Premium Processing Team Lead / Operations Manager
Overview:
An exciting opportunity for an experienced Premium Processing Subject Matter Expert to play a key role in supporting premium processing operations across multiple classes of business. This position combines technical expertise, stakeholder management, process oversight, and project leadership, acting as a central point of contact for onboarding activity, escalations, and premium processing excellence.
The role offers significant exposure across the insurance lifecycle and the opportunity to drive process improvements, service quality, and operational efficiency within a collaborative and evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary point of contact for premium processing queries, urgent requests, and escalations, ensuring issues are managed through to resolution.
- Lead onboarding and backloading projects for new business portfolios and incoming teams.
- Provide subject matter expertise on premium processing activities, including Bureau and Outsourced Reporting (BOR) arrangements.
- Support new business implementation and act as a key liaison between operational, broking, and finance stakeholders.
- Oversee premium payment conditions and premium processing workflows for assigned business areas.
- Support business continuity processes and manage workflow allocation during system outages or operational disruptions.
- Liaise with credit control and finance stakeholders to ensure effective premium collection and ledger management.
- Review ledgers regularly to ensure timely premium signings and resolution of outstanding legacy issues.
- Monitor and resolve missing or incomplete premium processing information.
- Monitor forecasted income and processing activity to support monthly budget and performance objectives.
- Work closely with aligned processing teams, providing guidance and operational support.
- Identify and escalate training and development requirements within the wider processing function.
- Analyse right-first-time (RFT) metrics and collaborate with stakeholders to improve data quality, documentation standards, and processing accuracy.
- Manage insurer escalations and support audit requests as required.
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience within premium processing across multiple insurance lines of business.
- Strong understanding of insurance premium accounting and processing workflows.
- Experience managing stakeholder relationships across operational, finance, and client-facing teams.
- Ability to influence and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at varying levels.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- A proactive, resilient, and solutions-focused approach to problem-solving.
Desirable but Not Essential:
- Experience supporting onboarding, migration, or operational change projects.
- Exposure to workflow management and operational reporting tools.
- Knowledge of bureau processing, delegated authority arrangements, or related market processes.
- Experience supporting audits, controls, and operational governance activities.
