Job Title: Finance Transformation Project Manager

Overview:
An exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to lead key transformation initiatives within a Finance function undergoing significant change. This role is focused on driving process optimisation and technology-enabled improvement, ensuring projects align with target operating models and the wider strategic direction of Finance. It offers the chance to work across business and technology teams, influence senior stakeholders, and help shape best practice project delivery in a complex, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end delivery of Finance transformation projects, including scope, plans, resources, risks, issues, and key deliverables
- Drive process improvement and technology-focused initiatives, ensuring alignment with target operating models and best practice
- Review project and programme activity to ensure outcomes meet Finance requirements and strategic objectives
- Recommend improvements and challenge delivery plans where changes are needed to better support business goals
- Lead governance meetings, reporting routines, and project oversight activity
- Define clear roles and responsibilities across sponsors, stakeholders, operations, technology, and Finance teams
- Work closely with PMO and cross-functional teams to ensure joined-up delivery across the full project lifecycle
- Coordinate Finance resourcing across project initiatives to support effective and timely delivery
- Align all project activity to the broader strategic vision for the Finance function
- Establish and embed best practice project governance and delivery standards within Finance
- Manage stakeholder expectations to ensure scope and timelines are realistic and aligned to desired outcomes
- Build strong working relationships across Finance, technology, and wider business teams, facilitating discussion, decision-making, and conflict resolution
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously where required
What We're Looking For:
- Proven experience as a Project Manager, with at least 4 years’ experience delivering projects across both business and technology functions
- Strong background in transformation, process optimisation, and project delivery within a Finance environment
- Experience managing project governance, planning, risks, issues, and stakeholder communication
- Ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams in a matrix environment
- Strong analytical, organisational, and prioritisation skills
- Confident communicator with the ability to facilitate discussions and manage a wide range of stakeholders
- Self-motivated, well organised, and able to work independently while contributing to a high-performing team
- Strong knowledge of PMO methodologies, tools, and structured delivery practices
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Visio
Desirable but Not Essential:
- Experience within insurance or reinsurance
- Exposure to Finance processes such as accounting and close, treasury, procure-to-pay, or order-to-cash
- Experience delivering procure-to-pay transformation programmes
- Experience supporting large-scale integration programmes
- Familiarity with SAP
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline
- Advanced professional qualification or designation
