Overview:
An excellent opportunity for a Claims Technician to join a collaborative insurance operations function, providing administrative and technical support to ensure the accurate, timely, and efficient handling of insurance claims. This role plays a key part in maintaining data quality, supporting claims systems, managing workflows, and working closely with internal and external stakeholders to improve operational performance and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process, reconcile, and validate claims bordereaux received from delegated authorities and third-party administrators.
- Monitor bordereaux submissions, ensuring compliance with contractual, regulatory, and internal requirements.
- Investigate and resolve data discrepancies, exceptions, duplicate payments, and claims processing issues.
- Produce regular management information, claims reporting, and claims experience data for key stakeholders.
- Liaise with internal teams including underwriting, finance, IT, and claims to ensure accurate data flow and issue resolution.
- Support internal and external audit activities through quality assurance checks and accurate record keeping.
- Process London Market messaging and manage suspended system messages to ensure workflow continuity.
- Maintain claims system administration, including user access, authority levels, and joiner/mover/leaver processes.
- Support payment processing, loss fund reconciliation, static claims reporting, and other operational transactions.
- Identify system issues and process improvement opportunities, escalating defects where appropriate.
- Assist with claims operations mailbox management and provide wider administrative support across the team as required.
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience within insurance claims operations, claims administration, or a similar technical support role.
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy when handling data and documentation.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks effectively.
- A proactive, collaborative approach with strong problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and data validation.
- Experience producing both scheduled and ad hoc reports.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships across internal and external stakeholders.
Desirable but Not Essential:
- Experience within the London Market insurance sector.
- Familiarity with delegated authority or bordereaux processing.
- Experience using insurance platforms such as Guidewire ClaimCenter, Guidewire PolicyCenter, ECF2, CLASS, or Subscribe.
- Knowledge of claims systems administration and workflow management.
