Overview:
This is an excellent opportunity for a developing Claims Adjuster to join a specialist London-based claims team handling complex, high-value cases across Energy, Construction, Power, and Process Industries. The role offers exposure to international and technically challenging claims, providing strong development opportunities in both technical claims handling and stakeholder engagement.
Working alongside experienced professionals, the successful candidate will support the end-to-end management of claims, from initial notification through to resolution, while building expertise in specialty lines and contributing to a high-quality client service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in handling claims across Energy and Construction-related classes, including upstream, downstream, renewables, power, mining, and infrastructure risks
- Support the development and execution of claims strategies, including investigation, reserving, and resolution activities
- Manage a portfolio of claims within delegated authority, ensuring appropriate oversight and escalation where required
- Liaise with brokers, clients, loss adjusters, and other external stakeholders throughout the claims lifecycle
- Support negotiations and settlement discussions, including coverage and quantum considerations
- Maintain accurate, timely claims records and documentation using internal systems
- Assist with large loss reporting and internal management updates
- Contribute to delivering a consistent, high-quality claims service to clients and partners
- Collaborate with underwriting and other internal teams where required
- Continuously develop technical knowledge across relevant lines of business
What We're Looking For:
- Experience in claims handling within insurance, broking, or loss adjusting (typically up to 5 years)
- Interest in Energy, Construction, or wider specialty insurance lines
- Strong communication, organisation, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to priorities workload and manage multiple tasks effectively
- Collaborative mindset with a proactive approach to learning and development
Desirable but Not Essential:
- Exposure to complex or large loss claims in relevant specialty lines
- Familiarity with claims systems such as ECF or Docosoft
- Progress toward, or interest in pursuing, a professional qualification (e.g. ACII or equivalent)
